Shane's BIO & Stats

For 2007 Shane and his ShaneCity Racing team are defined by the goals we have set and then accomplished. In 2004 we finished 2nd in points just missing out on winning the championship due to the final race being decided by the rain. Despite rain canceling the last race we were very happy as we had won 4 out of the last five races in 2004. This set the tone for the 2005 season with us not only winning the points, but completely dominating the entire season with 10 wins & 17 out of 17 top tens.

It would have been easy for Shane & his team to sit back and bask in the glow of their achievement. Instead they did only what they know how to do…. set another high goal. In the 2006 season Shane had planned on running complete schedules in both the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA as well as the NASCAR Northwest Tour Elite Division.

The one thing in racing you cannot plan on is weather, a number of rainouts and rescheduled races caused major scheduling conflicts. A decision was made to concentrate on the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at Evergreen Speedway. It turned out to be a good decision, as we went on to win the championship by winning 9 of 13 races that we ran. Winning the championship on the final night of the season was the highlight of the year. We had missed one race in the middle of the season due to the schedule conflicts which put us behind in points until the last race of the year which Shane had to win to take the championship.

For 2007 our goal is very bold. We are looking to dominate the entire season and win all 20 races to earn our third Superstock championship in a row at Evergreen Speedway. Three championships in a row is something Shane’s father Pete Harding did in his career at Skagit Speedway. This is a target we will stop at nothing to achieve.

We also plan to attend a few select Touring series races around the region with Pete Harding as our teammate. We also our making plans to race the NASCAR Grand National race August 4th in conjunction with the Superstock race scheduled on the same day. The Touring series divisions we have plans for are the Northwest Tour (formerly NASCAR Northwest Tour) and the ARCA WEST Late Model Challenge series.

Shane and the team plan to make 2007 another milestone year!
